Working together to save lives.
Take Heart Ohio provides state-of-the-art innovative care to increase survival and brain function after cardiac arrest. We partner with communities and other nonprofits to change behaviors and implement data-driven systems of care that save more lives.

Take Heart America, a cardiac arrest initiative, is a nonprofit founded by medical professionals and civic leaders who recognized that current survival rates have been and remain unacceptably low and that neurological outcomes can be significantly improved. Take Heart Ohio is a subsidiary of Take Heart America.

Welcome to a more effective model of care.
Our comprehensive system of care has been implemented by communities in the United States and abroad. Early adopters have nearly tripled lives saved within their communities.

Our approach relies on coordinated action from lay rescuers(parents, coaches, students), first responders(police, firefighters, volunteer rescuers),emergency medical services (paramedics, emergency medical technicians) and hospitals (nurses and doctors in emergency departments, ICUs). These groups receive both high-quality training and state-of-the-art life-saving technologies from industry innovators. We continue to adapt and innovate as new research and technologies become available.

Take Heart Ohio participates in the Cardiac Arrest Registry to Enhance Survival or an equivalent data collection process to measure performance and share data. As new interventions become available, Take Heart America communities are the first to learn about, assess and implement them.
